Rhodes Town has architecture which reflects the many civilisation that have coloured the Mediterranean: Ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, the Knights of St John and the Venetians have all left their mark on this town. One of the best known monuments, the Colossus of Rhodes, was one of the wonders of the ancient world, bronze deer mark now mark the spot where the statue stood.
There is plenty to explore, Kamiros and Sianna are picturesque villages and those seeking a little after dark excitement might try their luck in the casino in Afandou.
So, we come to Faliraki and one thing is for sure, you cannot ignore it. All there is to say is that this really is a notorious twenty-four hour party zone and is probably best avoided unless you think you can handle it. Certainly worth a visit, however, is the water park in Faliraki.
Surfers like the beach at Prassonisi on the South coast.
