The principal town of the island is Parikia. The town is built around the port and is characteristically Cycladic with white washed cubic houses and a pretty windmill. Above the town are the ruined remains of a 13th century castle and nearby the famous Church of the Hundred Gates.
The nightlife is varied and ranges from homely tavernas to outrageous clubs.
The Cyclades Islands are great for sailing and Paros is no exception.
In the summer, Paros has daily flights from Athens airport and several daily ferry connections to Piraeus.
