Sounio is at the southern tip of the Attika penisular and is famous for the temple of Poseidon. The temple, built in the 5th century BC stands 70 metres above the sea on the edge of a cliff. Many Athenians have summer houses in this area and come to enjoy the wonderful blue sea.

Athens and the airport are about 60-90 minutes by car.
