Psara is a tiny, rocky island north-west of Chios. Only a few hundred people still live on this island. The highest peak on the island is the barren home of the Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin. Psara has a small archaeological museum and a few cafes and rooms to let. However, it is certainly off the package tourist trail and so facilities are limited. This rocky out-crop is a place to come to experience, in weathered stones and ruins, the bravery and resilience of the Greek nation.
