The Schinias Olympic Rowing Centre at Marathon will host the rowing events and the Canoe and Kayak Sprint events whilst the Canoe and Kayak Slalom events will be held in the Helliniko Olympic Complex ( H.O.S.C. ), which is in a southern suburb of Athens (quite a distance from the Schinias Centre).

The Eastern Attika coast is swept by a strong sea breeze in August and so it is not impossible that the exact timing of events could be altered because of weather conditions. 
  • The Rowing events will be held from Sunday the 15th of August 2004 to Sunday the 22nd of August 2004.
  • The Canoe and Kayak Slalom events will be held from Tuesday the 17th of August 2004 to Friday the 20th of August 2004.
  • The Canoes and Kayak Sprint events will be held from Monday the 23rd of August 2004 to Saturday the 28th of August 2004.

    There is good road access to Marathon from Rafina, Neo Makri, Ekali, and Kiffisia 

Nea Makri and Rafina are pleasant coastal resorts with a beach, harbour, cafes and tavernas
