This green island has much to offer. Zante (Zakythos) is blessed with long sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, beautiful blue seas and a wealth of culture and sights. Zakynthos town has strong Venetian elements, including a Venetian castle, and a Byzantine Museum. Further into the island, there are many traditional mountain villages and solemn monasteries.

Zante has great beaches. Laganas beach offers a range of water sports including windsurfing, water skiing and scuba diving. This is also the location of lively nightlife. Tsilivi beach has sand that slopes, very gently, into the sea and so it is great for kids. The famous blue caves are also well worth a visit.

The Caretta-caretta turtle lays its eggs in the soft sand of Geracas beach.

The Ionian Islands are great for sailing and Zante is no exception.
